  • New Forms Introduced:
    • Form 93 → Indian Citizens
    • Form 95 → Foreign Citizens
      (Old Forms 49A/49AA are now rejected)

    • PAN cannot be applied without Aadhaar (except limited cases)
  • Critical Deadline:
  • Processing Speed:
    • e-PAN: 24–48 hours
    • e-KYC: 3–5 days
  • Penalty:
    • ₹10,000 for duplicate PAN

Case 1: Indian Citizen

  • Student, employee, business owner
  • Minor (through guardian)

Case 2: NRI

  • Indian citizen living abroad
  • Income or investment in India

Case 3: Foreign Citizen

  • Working in India
  • Investing in Indian assets

Who Cannot Apply

  • Already having PAN
  • Fake documents
  • Minor applying independently

  • Bank account opening
  • Property transaction above ₹20 lakh
  • FD or deposits above ₹10 lakh
  • Mutual fund investment
  • Income tax return filing
